This is a photo whose composition I liked but the detail was too much and then I found Topaz Simplify and it helps to isolate my intention a good deal.
"a brief rest", Coyote Hills Regional Park, Union City, California
And it didn't last long. Simplified with Topaz.
The dark vertical line was caused by the shadow of a tall, narrow tree trunk.
This weekend I tried my hand at a Tadder'esque style in a shoot for a Bay Area personal trainer, Melissa Aycock. It went pretty well given that I don't have Tim Tadder's loads of high-powered equipment or his talent. :)
I used two bare strobes which was very challenging as they were connected optically and had a very limited range. I used a .5 CTO to the left which I handheld along with a shutter remote and a .25 CTO on the right for this shot. It was a lot of trial and mostly error especially given the challenges in post to deconstruct that look. It was fun though and Melissa was a great sport through it all. Thanks Melissa!
